Nuchal Translucency Accreditation
Below are simple steps to follow for NT credentialing. Once you become NT accredited you can start submitting samples to NTD Labs.
STEPS TO NT ACCREDITATION
- TAKE A COURSE
Both the Fetal Medicine Foundation (FMF) and the Nuchal Translucency Quality Review Program (NTQR) offer the didactic course required for NT accreditation for a fee.
- SUBMIT IMAGES
Both the FMF and the NTQR require sonographic images to be submitted for approval. We recommend you host a practical session with 3-4 practice patients (11-13 weeks gestation) per sonographer being trained to obtain images.
- GET EQUIPMENT
Proper equipment is necessary for generating the images for submission. We recommend 1 ultrasound machine per 1-2 sonographers being trained at the practical session.
- GET APPROVAL
Both the FMF and the NTQR require you upload your images for approval. The FMF requires 3 images and the NTQR requires 5 images. Once approved, they will provide you with a certificate for measuring NT.
- FAX ACCREDITATION CERTIFICATE
Once approved, your NT Certificate must be on file at NTD Labs before submitting patient samples. Please include your NTD Labs Account # and fax your certificate to 631-425-0864.
- SEND SAMPLES
Contact your local NTD Labs Representative to in-service your staff on the correct process for sending samples to NTD Labs.
